Whether it be in commercial, industrial or even educational premises, The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 require that any electrical equipment that has the potential to cause injury is maintained in a safe condition.

Alternatively, if you are a landlord who provides electrical appliances to your tenants, you may be required to have evidence that the equipment you provide is safe for insurance purposes.

One of the best ways of ensuring compliance with the law is carry out regular Portable Appliance Testing.

Whilst the law does not state how frequently you should test equipment, we recommend that annual testing be carried out to ensure that the safety and integrity of any appliance be maintained.

Our testing engineers are NICEIC Approved Electricians who are not only able to carry out the inspection and testing but are also able to understand the results and what they mean to you as the customer.

Following a visual inspection of the appliance, we carry out (dependent on whether or not the appliance is Class I or Class II)

Polarity Test

Earth Continuity Test

Insulation Resistance Test

Load Test

Earth Leakage Test

Operational Test

Furthermore, should any minor repairs be required - replacement plugs or fuses fitted, re-termination of flexible cables should they be damaged (within a reasonable distance from the plug) - these are included within our price and carried out by our electricians.

A certificate for all of the testing undertaken and results for all of the tests are provided as well as a report to confirm reasons for any failures will be provided once the testing is complete.

We know how disruptive it can be having equipment out of service which is why we liase directly with the client to ensure the works are carried out in a fuss free manner and at a time suitable for you.

For further information on how we can help you meet your obligations or for a quotation for your testing, please contact us and we will be happy to discuss the matter.
